Work
Alessio Tranchell is an emerging composer in Saint Paul, MN. His choral music constructs unique textures and utilizes lyrical vocal melodies that are both challenging and singable. Tranchell’s music has been performed by the choirs at Houghton Academy (NY), Crown College (MN), North Central University (MN), and most recently the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus as winner of the second annual SFGMC Composition Contest.

Conductor Alessio Tranchell serves as Assistant Professor of Music at North Central University where he directs the Concert Chorale, the Women’s Chorus, and the Festival Chorus. Previously, Alessio worked at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul where he directed the Amata Women’s Chorale and taught courses in music theory and sight singing. He holds degrees in conducting and voice from The Greatbatch School of Music, Houghton University (M.M. in Conducting and Voice) and Gordon College (B.A. in Voice). Tranchell has studied conducting under Dr. Daniel David Black, Dr. Adam Luebke, and Dr. Jamie Hillman.
